Reservations & Payment:

How do I secure my booking?

All bookings are secured with a 50% deposit. Without a deposit your booking is not confirmed.

When is the deposit due?

There is no specific time frame but without a deposit your spot is not guaranteed. You can wait til last minute but we cannot guarantee there will be any availability.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits are non refundable. Refunds are incurred through your travel insurance for circumstances that they deem valid.

Do you accept cash in foreign currency to pay the balance upon arrival.

No all payments need to be made with Indonesian Rupiah or by bank transfer.

Accommodations:

What amenities are provided in the bungalows?

We provide clean linen, mosquito nets, fans, drinking water, and coffee.

Is there air conditioning?

We don’t have air conditioning and at night the fans often make it too cold. Most of our guests say they turn the fan off in the middle of the night.

What type of bedding is provided?

The mattress sheet and a thin blanket sheet are available along with pillows.

Are there towels included?

No, we do not include towels.

Dining:

What meals are included with my stay?

You get three large meals a day featuring omelettes, and a blend of authentic indonesian food with rice and protein for lunch and dinner.

Can you offer a vegetarian option?

Yes we can offer a vegetarian meal plan.

Check In & Check Out:

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check in is at Noon and Check-out is at 10am.

Is early check-in or late check-outs available?

Yes but it depends if we have other bookings for your stay.

Afulu Surf & Activies:

What surf conditions can I expect?

Surf conditions are always changing. Sometimes consistent back to back swells with favourable winds are on offer and sometimes conditions don’t align.

Are surf lessons or equipment rentals available?

No we do not provide surf lessons or equipment rentals.

Do you have a surf guide?

Yes, our experienced guide Dicky is available to lead you to the surf spots featured on our Surf Breaks Page.

When is the prime surfing season?

Our surf season is year round. The biggest swells typically come from May to September but there can be fun rideable waves year round.

What level of surfer do you need to be to enjoy the waves in the region?

There’s something for everyone—from complete beginners to advanced surfers.

We have a basic command of English. While we may not be fluent, we can communicate effectively using Google Translate.

Do you rent motorbikes?

Yes, we offer motorbike rentals with surfboard racks for 100,000 IDR per day.

Do you have a surf guide?

Yes we offer surf guiding for 100.000 per session.

Health & Sickness:

Is there Malaria in Afulu?

Malaria is found throughout Indonesia but rarely are there any cases in Afulu.

What if I get hurt and need medical care?

Yes, surf guiding services are available for 100,000 IDR per session.

Travel to Afulu Surf Resort:

How do you get to Afulu Surf Resort?

Afulu Surf Resort is accessible from Gunung Sitoli, Nias, Sorake, or Sirombu. We can help arrange car transportation if needed.

How many hours does it take to get to Afulu Surf Resort?

Travel times vary: approximately three hours from Gunung Sitoli, four hours from Sorake, and one hour from Sirombu.

Money:

Is there a money changer in the region?

No, there are no money changers available locally.

Are there any ATM’s or banks in the area?

There are no banks or ATMs in Afulu itself; however, a bank and ATM are available in Lahewa, Nias—about a 30-minute drive away.
